Children’s Ministries

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” — Mark 10:14

Children have a special place in the life of our congregation at Tigard United Methodist Church and are welcome in worship.

We want children to feel like they belong in every aspect of church life, including worship. We know that children (and most adults) are never perfectly still or quiet and that’s okay! The sounds of children in worship indicate that this congregation is alive and thriving!

  • Activity packs and “worship buddies” are available in the church lobby.
  • A “pray ground” is available during our Water’s Edge worship for kids who want to color and/or do other quiet activities.
  • A clean, well maintained, fully staffed nursery (for kids 5 and younger) is available during worship and most activities
  • Families can experience a number of intergenerational events where we learn together how to experience and express our faith in a variety of ways.

Faith development and spiritual growth happen best in community and GIFT provides these monthly opportunities through Messy Church, all-church breakfast, and special outings. Intergenerational ministry fosters relationships at a deeper level as kids and adults learn together what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Sharing our faith and doubts with one another is a truly a gift! More information and upcoming dates.

Messy Church

A different way to do church: Intergenerational * Interactive * Creative

Messy Church is a non-traditional way of being church that fosters relationships through Christ-centered creativity, celebration, and hospitality. EVERYONE is invited!

Pray together! Play together! Eat together! Get messy together! The event is FREE and dinner is included.

Messy Church meets from 3:00-5:00pm on the 1st Sunday of the month (October through May).

  • What they’re saying…

I spent about 2 years enjoying Jubilatte’s warm inviting atmosphere. I’d drink coffee while my kids played in the play area. It was in Jubilatte that I met and began to form relationships with church members and also Pastor Jeremy. When we decided to start attending Sunday worship, it was clear to me what an impact Jubilatte had on my family’s life. Tigard UMC is where we belong. I’m not sure if we would have discovered that if it wasn’t for Jubilatte.
