In the course of his career, Paul Jeffrey has taken more than 200 flights in a single year.  If a traveler in the seat beside him asks what he does for a living, Paul’s response will depend on whether he is ready to engage in conversation.   If he has work to catch up on and feels he can’t talk, Paul says he responds, “I’m a missionary.”   In most cases, the in-flight magazine suddenly becomes fascinating to the person seated beside him.  If on the other hand, Paul’s work is caught up, he will respond that he is a photo-journalist.  A lively conversation usually follows.  The truth is that Paul is both a photo-journalist and a missionary.  His photographs frequently accompany articles in the Response magazine.  His is also the co-author of Where Mercy Fails: Darfur’s Struggle to Survive.
