…to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

United Methodist Women is an organization of approximately 800,000 members whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, engage in transformative learning, develop leaders and advocate for justice.  Members raise nearly $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

Our entire budget is for mission.  Member pledges and our annual rummage sale profits are the primary income from which our local and other designated mission projects are financed.  Tigard United Methodist Women pledges yearly to Cascadia District for furthering the global ministries of the organization.

Our Tigard UMW general membership gathers the 2nd Thursday of the months Sept through June at noon in the Social Room for a shared lunch and program.  Additionally we host a special summer outing in July or August.  All meetings are open to all women of the church and their friends.  Child care is available by reservation.

umwomenEach summer we participate in Mission u sponsored by the United Methodist Women of Oregon-Idaho Conference.  Every four years we encourage our women to participate in the Western Jurisdiction meeting (held west of the Rocky Mountains) and the National meeting of United Methodist Women known as Assembly.

Tigard UMW sponsors four groups that meet for devotions, enrichment, and fellowship.

  • What they’re saying…

I spent about 2 years enjoying Jubilatte’s warm inviting atmosphere. I’d drink coffee while my kids played in the play area. It was in Jubilatte that I met and began to form relationships with church members and also Pastor Jeremy. When we decided to start attending Sunday worship, it was clear to me what an impact Jubilatte had on my family’s life. Tigard UMC is where we belong. I’m not sure if we would have discovered that if it wasn’t for Jubilatte.
